Maybe a dark, round pedestal table to match the base of your stools and then do the chairs in a patterned fabric that has a similar background to your stool seats.

I would choose a lighter finish.

to contrast the dark floor. choose a low back chair so not obstruct the great windows.

You may want to measure the space to see if it can accommodate 8 people when it is extended and there is enough room behind for flow. You may also find you’ll need a larger chandelier.

I wouldn’t go as dark as the island‘s base and instead work with the flooring. Maybe recover the stools with a fabric that complements the dining chairs.

What is the wood in the lower left hand corner - it matches your current table? It looks like something that will need to be changed also.

First suggestion, paint the white kitchen door and the trim the wall color. Make it blend into surrounding wall as it is way too obvious.

Could a rectangular table, perpendicular to the slider work? You still may get 8 chairs (no arms in order to tuck under). Stay in the sale color scheme as your kitchen.

round would be nice since you have rectangles at the peninsula and island. but if the space wont allow it you can get a rectangular trestle table.... please get some color in some fabric covered chairs....you have a shortage of color I like this table,,,,,note the chairs.... Thank you everyone for your input. The area where the current table is - is square so I am hesitant to go with a rectangular table unless it sat less number of people. I cannot paint the door because every single door in the house is White along with the trim molding so if I paint one, I gotta paint them all it actually does not stick out if you see the house altogether. They comment about the maple in the lower left-hand side of the picture is correct. It is my stairwell that has to be replaced as well. Those are the last two things left in our remodel.

I like round tables in square rooms and as for color maybe dark wood like the cabinets and white chairs . I find all the stuff above the cabinets a bit much for sure that clock but it all creates a very busy space visually so keeping the rest simple is a must IMO
