I would need to warm up the room with curtain panels and rugs to delineate the rooms. The acoustics must be a nightmare as is. What are your preferred colors? What furniture do you have that is moving in?

I’m not a pro, but I find it helpful to start with an overall color scheme (perhaps from a fabulous fabric or painting) to narrow down the universe of choices. Think about a main color and one or two accent colors. From there, select a LR rug, and don’t skimp on size. Generally 8x10 works best for a LR. You want at least all the front legs of sofa and chairs on the rug. Take your time and go into stores to look at rugs in person and FEEL them. Buy the best quality you can afford— I vote for 100 percent wool for rugs but I know others disagree. Once you have a rug in mind, start thinking about a sofa and chairs. In other words, start with the largest pieces to anchor the room and then work down to the smaller accent pieces and finishing touches. Good luck— it’s a lovely space!

If you are interested in warming, paint the gray- looking walls in a more neutral tone. (Even if they aren’t really gray, they appear that way.)

Rugs and furniture in a warm tone. Much larger rugs than the one I see. Colors like tan, bone, camel, gold, red, etc. No spindly, metal-like furniture. Light, maybe sheer or semisheer window treatments.

In some of the photos the walls and floors look really gray/cool and in others they look warmer.

It looks like there is a lot of cream, grey, white, and black at the moment. So it's a very neutral blank slate to start with. You might consider adding yellow/gold or blue as an accent color. Please see the image below for some extra inspiration.
