Dining Room Storage Ideas

last month
last modified: 26 days ago

Looking for ideas such as storage-display-art-etc for this area by the dining table. I do plan to put liquor/wine in there but also typical dining stuff.

Wall is 137" x 61"

Wall to Dining Chair 50"

Table for reference is 72"

I'm NOT changing the dining table/chairs/chandelier - just want suggestions on the space

I edited the images with AI to remove items from pics so it was a clean slate

Updated: Saw someone asked what the rest of the space looked like around the dining. Not asking for changes to any other area please

I'd fill the space, looks like you have some good space to do the bar and storage.

Love the idea, just not sure if I want to spend money on built ins. Spent a ton on landscaping this year

don't need to do built ins. Buy off the rack.

If you are creative, figure out what you need and buy ready made cabinets and join them, paint it all the same color.

I would take your wall measurements and some basic positioning of shelves and drawers, etc. to your local home improvement store and ask the cabinet dept. for a drawing, and quote... It's FREE, it will give you an idea what you can do.

What is the measurement from the table edge to the wall?

I think a pine sideboard to coordinate with the table would be the right direction. A wall hung hutch or plate rack would be nice, but that might not be so easy to find.

I'd add a decorative mirror and an assemblage of blue wall plates.

Set of THREE and hang art above.

I'm sure you have Google, Go on Great Big canvas!!

You don't need granny china display, plates and clutter on the wall.

You have a direction in place with light, table and chairs

You need only a strong focal point and storage

I would do a simple long buffet type cabinet with enough storage for the stuff you need to store . I would not do pine I am not sure what wood the table is but the sapce does not say country style to me. The chairs are quite a staement so IMO all else simple I dislike mirrors in DRS but a great piece of art above the new buffet would be great . I like the light, but those chairs would not be my choice but since we see nothing else for context who knows .The big question is ow much space dor you have when chairs are pulled out along that long wall.. The light says MCM so maybe something like this lots of storage and simple . The cairs are a puzzle they have a seat that is not the pattern so can we see one full on.

    Wall to Chair is 50"

The rest of the house is modern and was flipped 5 years ago so I prefer to stick with that

I like the multiple sets to use the space. I'm thinking of mixed use with bar/wine cabinet.

Thanks Jan, that was the depth I was thinking. I have some old cabinet there for reference but took it out of the pic. I don't need a ton of storage (ton in kitchen) but that wall is so big and open so wanted to fill it a bit.

    ^^

That's the impact way to fill it! Don't clutter.

This is as the link at the bottom with three butted together will equal 120" length and perfect

You'll have used 120" of your 137" and a nice shallow depth too. @ 15"

Add your art......a lamp , some tall simple greens and finito.

Centered on wall, you have 8" each side not used and almost the look of a built in!
