Old Mystery Rose?

last month
last modified: last month

Years ago, while hiking in the Adirondacks, I came across a rose growing along the remnants of a long-gone cabin with it growing against the remnants of a stone chimney. I took cuttings and managed to get one to take and now have the rose in my garden. Classic pink, strongly fragrant, extremely cold hardy, and grows to about 15' so I suspect it is a climber since it takes over much of my fence in the summer. The flower starts to fade around the edges as soon as it's fully open.

I suspect it is a very old rose. Does anyone have a clue what this might be?
