I assume you mean not a bunch of pillows for decor. Iam with hubby I hate having to remove a bunch of stuff to go to bed. I have no idea of your style so maybe share that . This is one of my faves for a bedroom for me pretty romatic maybe forget the long bolster . The blanket at the end is handy if the night turns cold

Pillows or no pillows don’t really make a difference in creating a romantic effect. Select high quality bedding and use two sets of king sized pillows (that remain on the bed).

Good point about high quality bedding. Bite the bullet and buy Sferra, Matouk, Yves deLorme, Frette. They are all beautifully made and will last forever. They also have several price points depending on your budget.

Beautiful bedding in romantic, coordinated colors. Both of these have a gazillion pillows on the bed, but that isn't important to the sense of romance.

@Diana Bier Interiors, LLC, my DH insists on buying Sferra sheets. I think they are way over priced for what you get and having bought/used a dozen sets over the last 15 years, they definitely do not last forever!

I like these sheets from Land's End ... and a steal compared to the Sferra sets.

Ok, maybe forever is a bit overstated. But I have some that lasted a very long time, and I just purchased a set in the past year that I love, and the fitted sheets are so much more roomy than lots of other brands. Also I much prefer percale, not a fan of sateen. I know that Lands' End sheets are at the top of a lot of Houzzers' lists.

I can't stand decorative pillows and throws either. I think a romantic bedroom is created by a combination of perfect paint color in perfect lighting.

I too am digging Lands End supima sheets these days. I'm a fan of plain sheets with a bit of embroidery too.
