Northern lights were seen by some here in North Texas last night. I went out several times but never saw any.

Beautiful, so magical. Love your photos! I saw them in Alaska in 1989, will never forget. I was lucky, the night I saw them they were very colorful and moved alot. It was an incredible experience.

Here by Lake Michigan and Chicago, we are so often ”chiboued” (DH’s word) by celestial events, meaning anything interesting is usually blocked by clouds and light and trees. We have to go all the way down to the street to maybe see anything, even better to walk a long block to the school. and last night was COLD. So I stayed in. Then this morning I saw pictures from friends, taken at their homes, not even going to open spaces. They might be visible tonight, I will pay attention!

It was too cloudy here, but I have seen them through a camera lense in our area before. Maybe we'll get lucky tonight and I can cancel my Norway trip :)

Wow. They were visible here outside Philadelphia last night . I looked but barelay saw some pink. I think tonight will be better. There were some great local photos on FB and specacular ones as close as Delaware.

They only can be seen through my iphone camera. Ive only seen pink, not grreen.

This was last year.

We have too many trees (even though leaves are dropping) and light pollution at our house to see anything, but people in our region were definitely getting nice photos. I saw people all the way down to the Florida gulf coast, Louisiana, etc. see them. Incredible.

It was so magical seeing Northern Lights! It's always been something I'd hoped to see, but wasn't sure I would ever travel somewhere that I could. I feel lucky that I moved out of the city this year so that I could actually see them. My family in the city could not.

Earlier last evening it was very cloudy here and we couldn't see anything. I went to bed. DH woke me hours later to show me this picture. I was too sleepy to get out of bed to go look, but we're supposed to have an even better show tonight. I will try to stay awake to see them tonight.

The last time we were able to see them, you couldn't see it with the naked eye. Only with the camera. That is not very exciting to me. I can just look at pictures! But last night it was apparently spectacular with the naked eye.

Funny! When DH went to look last night but came back in saying it's too cloudy, I said I guess we need to book that cruise to Norway. His response - book it right now. Very typical of him!

But now he's seen them and I haven't (yet). So do I need to do the cruise without him? Kidding.

They are supposed to be ”camera visible” as far south as northern MS and northern AL tonight.

Went outside to look but saw nothing, not even through my phone.

I’ve gone out a few times and see something where I wonder, could that be it? So I take out my phone camera, go to night vision, and pick up colors when I view the photo it just took, but nothing like photos I’ve seen. And then when I open Photos, it is nothing like the preview! what gives?

I’d go down to the lake but apparently it is crowded and parking lot full.

It's not often you get two nights in a row here in MN--especially this early, this warm. Reminds me of when I was a teen in Minot ND we often watched the night sky dance.

It was another no for me. We were considering driving out away from the lights, but then the reports looked like they weren’t in our area. But it looks like people did see some with their cameras around me.

@dedtired - yes, isn't it stunning? I've never seen them in spite of living in MN most of my life - just never in the right place at the right time I guess. Maybe one of these summers when I'm back there.

Finally saw them last night, mostly a purple glow. it was the 3rd they were visible here. Not a great sighting as we have so many trees around us.
