Yes, Haier owns both GE Appliances and Fisher and Paykel. If you look through the specs (this table is not completely accurate), installation instructions, and operating instructions, you see that these appliances are very similar. I'd go with the GE unless I preferred the appearance of the Cafe better in which case I'd spend the additional $100. The F&P warranty is twice as long but for the difference in price you can replace the GE if it breaks and pay no more in total.

Not sure if you're looking at a single drawer cafe or the double drawer. We had the double drawer Cafe for maybe four months and hated it so much we replaced it.

So small, never dried, terrible layout, stub your toe on the toe-kick, gunk built up....just awful.

We have an F&P dual drawer. It is a bit temperamental, but it perfect for us.

You would have hated the nearly-identical F&P too. CR tested several drawer dishwasher including the double-drawer Cafe. They just don't perform very well. One can buy a CR-recommended Bosch 300 Series SHE53C85N for less than $1000 or the recommended Kitchenaid KDTE204KPS for $750.

My double-drawer F&P unit is 22yo (8/21/2003).

Bet not made the same anymore I would still go Bosch IMO the best DWs around .I hinestly do not understand the drawer DWs so I just run mine when I need to 1/2 load still better than hand dishwashing
