Appliance Colors

I know there are a lot of posts about color here, but I couldn't find one about the new white look vs.the old style.

We are remodeling a kitchen and the range will be stainless. The dishwasher is panel ready, so no issue there, now I'm down to the refrigerator.

Samsung has an option for "White Glass" and for stainless in the fridge I'm interested in. The walls will be a warm/creamy white. Would you go with the "white glass" or stainless?

That Samsung RF29BB860012 refrigerator was downgraded in CR's tests primarily due to it's low predicted reliability...though HD owners like it. The stainless steel version of the white Whirlpool WRFF3136SW earned a "Best" rating so you might consider it if you want a white refrigerator.

So mt opinion is always get the best appliance for how you cook and that is never all from one maker so plain old stainless always is my go to. I do not even like panels that match cabinets IMO a kitchen is a work space I don't want to figure out where the fridge is . Do not get any type of fancy stainless finish either I hope a Bosch DW but I just bought a new to me house with all brand new appliance and it has a LG DW and I am impressed with it just a longer cycle than my Bosch but cleans really well I do however have an induction range that I hate so gas guy coming on Wed to see if a gas range is possible fingers crossed .

Appliance whites are cold and blue. They do no do well with warm whites or any warm colors. They need cool colors to look right.

Stainless or paneled to match the rest of the cabinets. I hate cleaning stainless, so I have done paneled Sub-zero fridges in my previous and current kitchens.

I’d do stainless but look elsewhere other than Samsung. I, have had very bad luck with new Samsung washer/dryer & don’t get me started on their ”customer service”, about on par with Design Within Reach, lol.

I have the Samsung bespoke 4 door fridge and would advice against buying a Samsung fridge. The 4 door uses the same water filtration system as the one you show and the valve broke right after 3 years of use, the price to replace is $600+. We do not have hard water or any other factors that would increase the chance of valve failure. Besides that issue the freezer ices up and the ice made fuses together quickly, I think that it has issues with temp regulation. I like the set up and versatility of the forth space but it is not a reliable fridge, it would be better if it died completely so that I could have less guilt about replacing it so soon.

I would likely stick with stainless, as noted white appliance can clash with other whites so it in part depends on what color your cabinets will be.

s m: "the valve broke right after 3 years of use, the price to replace is $600+"

Holy smokes! What's the model number?

    Stainless. And no Samsung appliances.

Aesthetically I prefer white. I agree with others here, based on my own experience with a fridge that I really liked (!), about Samsung’s unreliability. It was great while it lasted, but it only lasted a few years.

@wdccruise This is the part: samsung DA97-23386A ASSY CASE FILTER

I considered buying it and replacing it myself but I do not want to sink any money in to the fridge because I have a feeling that more issues are to come. Plus, I tested the water that was filtered by the fridge when it was working and have decided that using a Culligan filtered pitcher is worth the effort for a better capture of impurities.

If you walk through an appliance store or a home-improvement store, it seems near 100% of the major appliances are stainless.

It's just EASIER to go with what's easily available. Chances are 100% that one day one appliance will break, and you'll need to replace it -- it's EASIER to go with stainless because you'll be able to match it to your existing appliances.
