Yes, I have this "issue" ... well it is not really a problem anywhere but MZ Wallace as far as I can tell. On MZ Wallace, you can't use your rewards points if Shop is loaded. Mostly, I find it annoying for all the same reasons you do, Dee .. it is unnecessary and I'd rather deal with the retailer's cart directly.

It is on my long list of things to do/research. I am guessing it is a plug in that can be turned off but I havent looked yet. I am letting my team go at 3pm today (after our Virtual Potluck) so I'll look then.

Yeah, I have that too. I think DH inadvertently signed up and now it's a plague. I just skip it and don't use it and haven't spent much time investigating how to shut it off once and for all.

Me too. I think I used it once at a new-to-me retailer thinking it was part of their website and now it pops up all the time. Sometimes it's easy to get around, sometimes not. If anyone finds a way to 'disable' it or whatever, please let us know. I don't like the added layer with my info AT ALL.

I just went to their website and used this page to "sign out of all devices". We will see what happens.

Same with me. Did it used to be called ‘Shop Pay’ instead of just ’Shop’? Maybe I dreamed that. Anyway it drives me drazy too b/c I can’t ever tell if I’m getting merchant credit for the purchase as I should or if other benefits. Sheesh! Thanks, deegw!

I did that, Dee .. and it seemed to work-- right up until I needed to check an order at a store where I had only a Shop login. :(

Grrrr. After I signed out I was able to look at some sites without Shop harassing me. I haven't tried to check orders or buy anything,

I actually love it. It makes checking out so much easier. I consider it a similar thing to ApplePay. I use either one whenever available. I love just having one click to purchase things.

Funky, I ordered something from Baggu today. I'm signed out of Shop and tried to check out without using it. I received verification prompts from Shop on my phone when I entered my email and again when I entered my phone number.

I ignored the prompts and manually filled in the info and it went through fine. I went to the Shop website and I am still signed out of it.

I guess what I dislike most is how misleading it is. The text prompts make it seem like you have to put in a verification code to purchase but you really don't. I'm going to my account and see if there is a way to delete my personal info.
Also, I am trying to figure out how this is related to Passkey which also began popping up on my computer around the same time.

@deegw At Baggu, do you have a log in? If you do, and you haved saved you info with them using shoppay, they are using it at checkout. If you dont want to use it, you may need to update your Baggu preferences.

I'll have to look again because this is bothering the heck out of me -- even more now that Dee brought it up .. but I dont remember seeing any account preferences on the sites that Shop kicks in.

I don't know about baggu but on MZ Wallace, it does let me choose whether to use paypal or shop.. and if i choose neither and log in with my credentials, it STILL pops to Shop checkout. I am sure there is a trick ... I think I switched to order from my phone when I wanted to use my MZ Wallace points.

I have also had issues with Shop pulling up other addresses Ive used for gifts. One of my employees received something I ordered! She was so confused lol.. but luckily she was happy to mail it to me.
