This is me again adding the photos to the post. We are adding trim like this to the long wall.

Did you look at the SW 7048Urbane Bronze webpage? In every case, the room contains a lot of white trim, furniture and/or cabinetry to offset the dark wall paint.

"The room gets a lot of natural light and is east facing."

That probably isn't going to make much difference if the room is predominantly dark and won't reflect the light.

The TV will be an additional dark surface.

Maybe you should try the SW Color Visualizer with the actual room.

I would not put the strips on the long wall. Your room, isnt that large, and it will make it all look smaller.

Picture molding is more of a traditional detail. Your room is contemporary. I would not combine the two element.

You can apply vertical batten strips to the wall instead of the picture molding.

Dark Rooms

Thank you!! Im going for an eclectic look - traditional/vintage cozy library feel - so these pics do resonate. The rest of my house is traditional with a bit of modern farmhouse mixed in. My trim is all traditional lintel style. Here is my dining room and kitchen, and sofa colour. I defiant to go darker and moody but I’m worried I’m going to dark. Maybe SW porpoise which is one down from the urbane bronze on the scale. There is a lot of light in the room, but also only 8 fr ceilings.
