Add some berry sprigs and paint pumpkin like a snowman's head?

Painting the pumpkin gold was my first thought.

I would probably decoupage the pumpkin with a Christmas-y pattern and replace the orange with red berries and holly leaves or a sprig of pine.

I’d paint the pumpkin white or ivory, remove fall leaves, and add winter ones. I’d also find some thin willow-like twigs to place with the greenery for height. I’d just keep it very natural with twigs, berries, maybe pinecones, and other winter greenery mixed with the succulents.

Ignore the painted succulents and faux flowers, just showing as an example of wispy materials for height and interest. I like the color of the berries, too, they’re similar to some of yours. Something like this would be even prettier with your green plants (and look more natural) ….

You could also wrap the pumpkin in a piece of festive fabric, gathered at the top just below the plants and tied with a ribbon.

Such great ideas! I really like the idea of decoupage. I might try that first and if it fails, I'll paint it. Thanks Jilly for that picture. I didn't consider painting it white, but I like the way that looks. I'm not much of a gold girl!

@mtnrdredux_gw Yes, I owe the group a kitchen reveal. Everyone helped me when I was considering different layouts. I'll post something in the next day or so.

Nothing wrong with painting the pumpkin gold! You could also paint it white. You could swap out leaves and orange berry accents for pine tree sprigs and some red berries. You could even put a couple small round ornaments nestled within the succulents.

@pricklypearcactus The countertops are leathered taj mahal quartzite. Thanks! I have to say they are my favorite thing in the new kitchen.
