First snows are always special!

We are a lovely 57 with a high of 70. Chance of a very light drizzle.

DH took this photo today on his morning walk. I am getting over strep (ugh!), so walking inside a bit, and trying not to overdo.

Our real feel is 21 right now, down from being in the 70s yesterday. It’s cold! No snow, but we did have rain off and on yesterday. We worked out in it — got our Christmas wagon scene and other decor out, and brought many of our potted plants into the garage.

We might see snow this week! The weekend has been clear and chilly. Went to a tree lighting last night.

In the Florida panhandle yesterday where it was cool but sunny! Are these beaches stunning or what? Almost looks like snow...

It was 9.9F last night, expecting a high of 18F. Wednesday we're supposed to get 2.5". Aspen & Ivan, are spending time lounging in their heated cat bed. It's set @ 80F.

@rubyclaire The Panhandle had an amazing snow last December. We had 4-5" at our house, where the areas to the west received 6".

We just got back last night from a week trip to Lexington, KY for Thanksgiving. It was so cold there the last couple of days and heading home-I didn't realize it would be 24 degrees here when we got back! But, I actually love it! I love everything about fall and winter-as long as there is no ice. Fall and winter clothes are the best, imo. Our normal winter is in the 40's though.

@Allison0704 I remember - we even had a few snowflakes here in my area that didn’t make it all the way to the ground. My family in the area sent photos showing about 5” on their deck. Florida snow is a rare but beautiful thing!

It’s pretty gross here. 40 degrees and raining.

Spent Thanksgiving in Park City UT, where opening weekend has been delayed to TBD. Woke up to snow blowing outside the window yesterday morning. I was so thrilled. Then DSIL burst my bubble by pointing out that it was snow drifting from the snow machines.

Mid-40s and sunny here in SC. DH decided to make kind of a last-minute trip to MN on Friday for an event with friends from his hometown. It snowed all day yesterday - temps in the teens. I see on our Ring doorbell he's out shoveling this morning - one of his forms of exercise when we were there during the winter. I always enjoyed the first snowfall at this time of year - really puts you in the Christmas spirit.

Snowy midwest here. We got 7 inches yesterday. It was a nice lazy day doing things in the house, watching football, and watching it snow.

We had a few flurries this morning, which surprised me. Thats about as much snow as I like. Other than that, its gray and dismal here outside of Philadelphia. Rain preficted for later.Sigh.

We had a light dusting of snow last night -- but not even enough to be pretty. Later this afternoon there will be rain/freezing rain ... and then Tues we are expecting *real* snow. They are being cautious with predictions but claim it will be a "plowable" snow.

We returned home yesterday (Sunday) to about 8 inches of snow. It was beautiful. With my xmas decor already up, the house feels warm and cozy.

It's snowing again this evening, and I can hear the snow plows. I'm hoping to get some snowshoeing in at area forest preserves if we get much more.

OllieJane, Kentucky is a lovely state. I was there a few years ago during a treacherous snowstorm, and it was the most dangerous driving I've ever done. Waze detoured me off the highway during the storm, onto the hilly country roads that hadn't yet been plowed. There were cars in the ditches about every 1/4 mile. But the snow-topped fences around the equestrian estates were just gorgeous.

I cannot wait till we get snow!

High today was 82F 🙁 I'd love some winter weather! We had a little cold snap for Thanksgiving - it lasted all of 48 hours, I think.

Dh measured 10” of snow when he shoveled. Tonight when I came home at 11pm he was out shoveling again, this time from this evening’s snow, so I could get safely up the driveway. Tonight my handbell group loaded up our tables, bells, and other equipment into our cars in the snowfall, ready to travel to our concerts the next two weekends.

Driving home, it was so pretty to see holiday lights glowing under a blanket of snow! Made me regret not getting ours up the day after Thanksgiving. ”The spirit was willing but the flesh was pooped from Thanksgiving.”

@bpath - to riff on your post title... FOG!!! I think we have 10" of fog and mist this morning ;-)

When moisture levels are high, the various lichen (Old Man's Beard among others) come to life and oak tree branches appear to be coated in pale green. It almost appears as a dusting of snow. From a distance. If you squint.

Normally, by Thanksgiving, we have had a frost. This year my impatiens are still in bloom! We line the walkway with small trees for the Holidays but this year the trees are waiting for the impatiens to fade. So unexpected in December! Expecting several inches of rain and cool temps the next few days.
