Don't reinvent the wheel. Armstrong makes a ceiling plank system that comes in a variety of finishes. Easy to put up. Prefinished.

How tall is the ceiling? If it’s under 9 feet, ceiling planks may feel oppressive.

Why planks in a tiny space ?

I agree with other posters - a plank ceiling may not work well in a small place. It might actually call attention to the ceiling which could play up the size of the houze. Will suggest a painted gyp. board ceiling instead. Will suggest using the same colors as on the walls to visually enlarge the space.

I would go with a plain white flat ceiling. Not everything needs to be made the center of attention.

I do not see a wood ceiling working in that space either. I would just do the drywall.
