Need lighting ideas for cathedral ceilings

I'm in the process of updating our living room. See picture in comments. The room is roughly 16'x20'. The top beam is 16.5' above the floor. Previously, the beams and fireplace mantle were stained oak, the bead board ceiling was white and the walls were a darker neutral color. We also had two dated ceiling fans with light kits. The sofa and loveseat in the picture are new. The rest will be replaced. I'd like to go with one large modern ceiling fan, with or without a light, and probably black in color, hanging at about 9'-10' above the floor, centered on the middle angled beams. I'm unsure what to do about lighting. The old fans had the equivalent of 2500 lumens each which was a good amount of light for the room. I'm thinking about some glass shade pendants centered on the other two angled beams, hanging at about the same height as the fan to reduce shadows from the fan. However, I think they'd have to be large to not look so tiny in that big space. Am I on the right track?
