Paint: Should I or shouldn’t I?

last month

My fireplace surround is a dark green matte finish, although i know in pics it looks grey. i’m considering painting all the floor trim and closet doors at the end of that wall to match but in a satin finish. the problem is directly across is my half bath door painted white semi gloss.

do i just leave it as is or pull the trigger?

If those are the only two doors in view in the entire open area (except entryway door), I would paint only the doors and leave the baseboards and door trims white.

Isn't there another location for the TV?

What is on the other side of the the fireplace surround box? Is that same paint color on the wall on the opposite side + on the side opposite the doors?

Yes, I’d paint everything on the fp island the same green.

@BeverlyFLADeziner …. our fireplace had a large recessed TV above it, had it removed to a wall adjacent, hesistent to post pics because I know how a poster on here feels about Samsung Frame’s, lol.

Maybe the door on that FP wall but for sure not all the trim in your home THat will then continue to drive every choice you make for anything soa big no for green trim . K if youa re talking about me I have no isse with frame TVs bu an smart TV can have the same choices and yoou can add your own personl pics too

I would say just the fireplace enclosure including that door, and the little bits of trim around the fireplace.

@Patricia …. FYI Samsung Frame IS a “smart TV, just with a superior operating system.

: ) Virtually every TV is now smart.

The expense of Samsung frame, vs simply "smart "? There are so many internet apps for a fraction of the price of the "frame." Speed of light technology......mesmerizing rotating images of nature are my personal fave while getting the oh so boring mani /pedi.

I agree with lisaam. The paint color on the fireplace island, including doors and trim, can stand alone. It doesn't have to drive the color selection of the other doors and trim in the house.

Thanks Jan said it much better than I can and how did this even become a part of this dilemma

Would it be possible to build a door and surface it with the same material as the walls so that it effectively just becomes part of the wall?

Oh yes, those nail salons have high quality tech, lol, omg, , some of us prefer quality. Unfortunately , my vision isn’t the best, so that’s what I seek out. As one of my very smart friends says, “ you don’t know what you don’t know “. Lol

I like Samsung Frame TVs because the art that you select can stay on the screen. I have a 77" LG Gallery something (it sits flat against the wall + is thin like The Frame). I wanted a Samsung Frame - but my SO (who is an electronics nerd + audiophile) talked me into the LG because it has a better picture (better blacks/better quality screens).

HOWEVER - the art has to rotate on the screen - it can't remain static because it can cause a burn out issue on the screen. If I would have known that, I probably would have told him that I still wanted a Samsung Frame.

I know that chispa loves hers!

NOrwood that would be the perfect anser and honestly that TV should bo one the same size as the firebox and hung directly over the firebox not where it is but that is another dilemma Dani buy some art it will stay where you want it forever
