which coffee table would go well with this console?

last month

This is my husband piece. Sometimes I like sometimes I don’t. I lean towards an eclectic style. I want a modern coffee table but I also don’t want anything safe and boring? What would be your suggestions? The currently coffee table and rug is leaving. I saved some pictures of coffee tables that I like.

THey all look too clunky in thta space . I know not out there but the Nogchi coffee table would be a nice choice

those are really great, fun choices. But nothing is going to really complement that console because it looks very outdated but not in a good vintage way. It looks ok with what you have now, but think it will contrast too starkly with any of those new tables. Would he be amenable to moving the console to another part of the room or the house so it isn't in proximity to your statement coffee table?

Good point! I am struggling to get a coffee table to go with this furniture

Thank you for sharing the glass coffee table. I like it!

Should I go with something simple like these? What do you think?

    What about this CB2 option?

could you switch the console behind the couch with the one under the tv? At least everything in front of the couch would be more modern/contemporary.

I would look for a round coffee table like the one shared above by @Patricia Colwell Consulting because everything in the space is rectangle or square and the roundness of a coffee table will be a nice break in the space.

Suggest a substantial black coffee table and to determine its size and shape, measure out different options. I think black (vs any combination of wood, glass or white) will not fight with the console. I’d update its handles though and choosing black and brass will create a needed connection.

Never thought of black. I love it! Thank you so much!! I will search for black

After the cabinet is replaced decide what is the appropriate material for in front of the sofas.....wood, stone, glass or something else. If you expect the table to service both sofas then it should probably be rectangular in shape.

The finish selection will be tricky because of the orange tone of your wood floor. The area rug should be able to mitigate the orange tone in some fashion.

I can’t replace the console. It’s a sentimental piece to my husband. I believe a good designer can work with this

In happen to think the console is an interesting oiece and see no problem working with it expecially in a space that loks quite eclectic of course not sure if thatpiece above is aTV or an actual piece of art

I used an AI to clean up the area a bit.

You mentioned black. How about a charcoal stained piece? Less harsh than black & a little more forgiving re dust. Not these necessarily, just think something less square/rectangular.

I am starting to like the idea of glass coffee tables even though originally I wanted stone. Someone suggested this gold table from pottery barn. What do you guys think?

Looks like a shiny brass to me( I might be wrong though ). Guess if you turn it, looks modular, & going for a more traditional look?

Good point. Here a few other options some people suggested. I like so many of the options.

What about stone top? Can I go with stone top? Which shape would be best? I prefer stone

Switch the console and ottomans with the "sentimental" piece. Sentimental or not, it does not belong in its present location....too low, and too dark.

For the coffee table, how about this engineered stone one from West Elm?

Patricia's choice of glass and wood in a non-rectangular shape balances out all the solid, angled furniture--console, sofa table, sofas. Glass will also allow a new rug to show through. No more blocky rectangles! Your round wood AI table up on legs that echoes the wood console would work as well. Or nesting round wood or glass and wood nesting tables up on legs for airiness and allowing new rug to show through.

Thank you so much for all the comments. It helped me tremendously. I realized one thing 8n common, looks like is best to go for a rounded table. I am not a big fan of glass so I decided to go with stone top oval table. It’s a bit safe. I like a more crazy wild eclectic style but I think this table will be a safe option.

Safe is never interesting you have one interesting piece and now you want boring to work with it no way.

The problem is I had glass before and it gets really dirty. I need stone. The currently one I have is stone and is so easy to take care. Everyone is saying to go round. I think if it was me I would go with a rectangular or square or a free form stone table… I just want my house to look weird

All things get dirty stone , glass , wood IMO the bonus is the glass tells you when it is dirty . That table I suggested is really thick piece of glas and the shape of the wood IMO would be perfect and not safe but interesting.
