I need to order a butcher block countertop for the island in my new kitchen.
My perimeter countertops have a 3/4” overhang, see first photo, I am assuming because they didn’t want to extend past the door frame.
On the island I would like a bigger overhang because with the current temporary top,my builder installed, my knobs seem too proud, see second photo. This is just a walkway opposite a built in fridge. The work side is photo 3 and the far end, photo 4 will have a 12” overhang for one stool.
What size overhang should be on the 3 sides without stool? I read 1.5 “ is standard but will that be a problem with microwave drawer?
