Need help determing best layout for cabinets, refridgeratoeraptor, stove. Gutting kitchen but keeping sink at window. Style is cottage

you haven't asked a question, or given any info what you want, so i'll just post some pictures of very narrow kitchen spaces to give you ideas.

BTW, you could move the sink to one side if that's something you've considered. look at narrow galley kitchens for ideas. (more on these at the bottom)

(if on a budget, look for 2nd hand older solid oak cabinets that you can sand, prime and paint. or go to a builders surplus store for cabs).

to start, remove that ceiling fan. I'd redo the ceiling in wood planks like shown here.

replace w/lights like this (add a few more)

you can buy pine wood flooring for less than $3 a square foot, prime and paint them. (it's cheaper than buying actual ship lap or nickel gap planks. Land L flooring has the cheap pine floor planks.) I used them to redo the inside space of a little trailer. here's how they look before painting

here's a detailed shop of that other pic w/the plank ceiling. make sure to get a counter depth fridge. enclose it like shown here w/storage on top, all the way to the ceiling.

There are a ton of DIYs for Fridge Surround online that you make yourself (or buy)

here's another narrow space. do a farmhouse sink, cabs up to ceiling, you don't have to do a DW, but this one has it. notice the ceiling and lighting

in the first pic, you'll see it's a very narrow kitchen space lie yours. take the cabs up to the ceiling for maximum space.

Ditto this one.

your stove vent is off to the left, so imagine this photo w/your stove there and the sink under the window. Butcher Block countertop is pretty cheap. HomeDepot has some for less than $200

How about this one? I love it. you'd have your stove on the left side

this really isn't any bigger than yours. on this pic they did the range on the right side, but you could keep yours on the left. under the right side window you could do a very small table lie they show here. notice the sink/cab and shelving around the window.

I like the way this one is styled too. you can easily do this. plank ceiling, window w/some type of light, bamboo shade, tall cabinets.

if you can imagine this pic in your space w/the stove wrapping around to the left, and then doing your cabinets like shown here

I like this idea too. bring out a peninsula under that other window on the right. do your sink and other cabs like shown in this pic

Here's a close up of the sink area. tile the entire area around the window, do a similar light, have some open shelves like shown.

What if you turned that window into a door, and maybe closed off one of the side windows? you could have a true galley kitchen like shown w/these.

eat in? What is the room adjacent to the kitchen? Is the antique stove merely decor?

Too bad you aren't willing to move the sink.

This room looks to be 8' wide, which is too wide for a U-shaped kitchen, but just right for a galley.

Without a fully-measured layout, we can't give you useful information. A sketch of the entire first floor will also be helpful.

Semi-OT but I wondered if ”refridgeratoeraptor” was a typo or a different typo referring to a GE Monitor type refrigerator. So of course I had to google those. Some models had a foot pedal to open the fridge door, and I think my grandmother’s more modern fridge had a feature like that. So now I wonder why today’s refrigerator don’t have an updated feature like that? Heading over to the Appliances forum!

Way too little info to even begin. First we need a to scale floor plan showing , windows , doorways where those lead all measurements clearly marked . The size of all the appliances and as we go along answers to our questions all done here in comments . You post the plan here in jpeg format in a comment to start .

Disagree. Not everyone is glued to this site, perhaps they are relatively new to using it ajd don’t have notifications set. They could have no idea all these comments are here, could be away for holidays, could be making plans. Who knows. But someone not replying in 2 days over the holiday season is hardly time to sound the alarm.

@Beth H: just gave a photographic class in Small Kitchens 101. These are all terrific examples of how to design a gorgeous narrow kitchen with a window at the end. I hope the OP returns to their post.

2 weeks starting to think not coming back. Sorry Beth but when you post a dozen ideas it usually only confuses the issue and the fact is posters can usually use Google just the same as you do. We have no clue as to size of the space so how do we know it is actually narrow , we can only guess how wide each cabinet door is so maybe 108" or 144" neither of which is terribly narrow
