Single or double window?

last month

This house currently has a single window to right of the front door. Feels like something is off. Would the double window improve look of the facade? TY

I like the looks of the double window more than I do the single window, although, it probably doesnt make enough difference, that I would be changing and adding windows. The landscaping could use a bit of work. Everything is all straight lined. I would add some curving beds to the left of the entry, and also on the front side of the sidewalk on the right, and just leave the windows alone.

Thank you so much for the feedback. My contractor just told me basically the same thing.

You might also think about planting a few trees in the front yard. Small and blooming type.

A 2-wide window would look better but not worth reconstructing half teh from of the house. The stone would come off, siding, drywall & insul, new header and the all reassembled. I would imagine a 15-20k hit and the juice would not be worth the squeeze in my opinion.

The single window looks fine. I prefer windows on the garage doors when they are front facing, or perhaps some decorative hardware.

I think what looks off about the current window is that each window on either side of the door has a different material surrounding it. That just feels kind of wonky. I don't think the double window addresses this issue and I certainly wouldn't go through the trouble to add it in. Plus, the double window has the issue of the shutters being the wrong side for the windows.

Great insight I didn’t even realize that but I see it now!

I do agree with Kendrah on the different material. I did notice that right away. I would have had the stone up higher on the left, so that the entire front was a bit more cohesive. The rest of the house has stone all the way to end of house, but, the left side doesnt.
