usually rooms w/a window don't require a vent.

I didn't put one in my master bath.

as for quiet ones, do some research on the CFM rating. tons of them on the market.

I would not want a shower area without one, personally.

I think if you live where you can always open the window you might not need a seperate vent but I would prefer one just to be sure . As for quiet that is personal but there are many on the market that are supposed o be quiet. I like a timer on mine so it can run for a bit after the shower is used

Pretty much any Panasonic will work, but you need to size the CFM for the room volume, so everything dries out.

General Sizing Guidelines

1. Calculate Room Square Footage: Length x Width (e.g., 8 ft x 10 ft = 80 sq ft).
2. Apply the Rule: Aim for at least 1 CFM per square foot.
3. Adjust for Fixtures:

• Bathrooms < 100 sq ft: 1 CFM/sq ft (e.g., 50 sq ft bath needs 50 CFM).
• Bathrooms > 100 sq ft (or with fixtures): Add 50 CFM for each toilet, shower, or tub; add 100 CFM for a jetted tub.

4. Adjust for Ceiling Height: If ceilings are over 8 feet, multiply your CFM requirement by the height (in feet) and divide by 8 to size up.

We have one in the toilet area (with door) and one in front of the shower area ... and they aren't that far from each other.

We have a large triple window in the bathroom and one in the toilet area, but still need the fan because we aren't opening the windows in the summer when it is 90F outside with 90% humidity!

I would add one just outside the shower area. Look at Panasonic models.
