Need help decorating fireplace mantle

I put up Christmas and now want to do something new on my mantle. Was thinking various vases or do two plants on each end of mantle. Any suggestions?

Have you considered a large piece of art over the mantel + maybe sconces on either side? The current mirror‘s reflection is not of anything special.

Agree with others. Mirror needs to go. Too high and reflects nothing. Plus it is too big. A piece of art the size of the firebox would be good. Something you really love not just something "because". Then probably nothing on the mantle because you seem to already have a lot of small items in the room just from the small corner you show.

Whether you keep the mirorr or select art, IMO a vertical format is better visually for this room.
