Front Door Stain color

We ordered a pretty mahogany door; picked mahogany stain but now I'm rethinking the stain color and need some advice.
Inside, the wood flooring is oak stained a chocolate brown hickory -- not too dark. Other woodwork is white in the house. Can my door be a different stain from the floor?
