First, paint the garage door and siding above it to blend with the brick. You don't want the garage door as a focal point. Then update the landscaping with plants bordering the house and on both sides of the path. Too much gravel!

I agree, the gravel has to go. This is in a POA with a large retirement population and I think they do it to avoid maintenance but that front yard is getting sod this spring.

I would wait until spring, and then paint the garage doors a color from the brick, so they dont stand out so much, and then get rid of the gravel, and get your new sod, and do some planting. I might also put in a couple small blooming type patio trees in the front in the area that is now gravel. Congratulations on your new home. It is a nice looking house, and the brick is pretty. Once all the trees green up, it will look very nice.

I'd paint the siding and shutters a sage green or slatey blue. Then do the garage door in a dark brown that goes with the color.

Your home isn’t ”dated”, it just needs some tweaking. As suggested, paint & landscaping. Glad you’re leaving the brick alone. In lieu of all sod I would want to add some nice landcaping in what appears to be, a large area in front of your home. Not knowing your area I can’t make suggestions . It would be worthwhile to have a landscape designer draw up a plan. You don’t have to do it all at once.
