K daylilies 2026

Please show us your K daylilies today.

Kansas Kitten

Kathy’s Orchid Bouquet is new to the garden.

Kissed by Moonlight likes its spot in the sun. The blooms were pale last season but had more blooms. Thanks, Debra!

Sherry - Kissed by Moonlight has more color in your climate than it ever had in Nashville.

I only have one K: Kiss of Paradise, and this is not a good looking bloom. I had a lot of trouble at the beginning of the season with bug damage.

Sherry: Kansas Kitten looking good for you. My climate gives me different colors then some others and when I grew Kansas Kitten the color wasn't as pretty as yours. It ended up getting rust the one year I had it and went to daylily heaven.........Debra: You had to downsize a lot when you moved. It's interesting to see what you saved........Nan: Even though I'm not a UF fan, that clump shot of all the orange daylilies in bloom is gorgeous......I have one K. Kiss You In The Morning. It's one of the few patterned daylilies I keep. It got hit pretty hard with last years winter in its pot outdoors, so spent most of it's time putting down roots last season. Here's a couple that it did put out:

Kansas Kitten is so pretty Sherry!!

Karen's Curls is reliable though it leans a bit.

Kent's Favorite Two had a wonderful year, and it does not fade!

    Kirsten's Corsage

Karen's seedling. I don't recall if it had a name so I'll put it here. It is actually a darker purple than this photo shows.

Nancy, what is the toothy cultivar behind King Crab? King Crab is usually a slower grower. Debra, did you have earwigs?

Mantis - No, my bugs were not earwigs or thrips. They were small black bugs with the shape of ladybugs. I don't know what they're called. I also had a really bad aphid infestation at the beginning of the season - much worse than anything I ever saw in Nashville.

Maryl - The only reason I brought Kiss of Paradise is because it blooms so much earlier than my other daylilies. In Nashville, the petal color was more of a cream than yellow, and it showed more of a pattern. I like the color combination on Kiss You in the Morning!

Nancy - That is a wonderful clump of King Crab!

Mantis, the toothy one behind King Crab is The Bride of Dracula.

Maryl, Kiss You in the Morning is very pretty.

Nancy: I like the pic of King Crab. How is it for increasing? It is such a vibrant color.

Julia, we have only had King Crab for a couple of years. In that time it seems to have grown into a nice little clump. We are happy with it.

    Sherry: I love KANSAS KITTEN

Nancy: I love KING CRAB. That might have been my nickname as an early teen LOL.

Brad: KENT'S FAVORITE TWO is an outstanding looking red. Red's are becoming one of my favorite colored daylily.

    Here are my contributions:

KISSING BRIDE: A new Bennett to the garden

    KANSAS KITTEN

    KIWI MAGIC: A wonderful Bennett

KIM'S LAUGHTER: First year in my garden.

Here is one from COTTAGE GARDENS

    KENNESAW RASPBERRY SORBET

    That is all I have.

Kissing Bride has such a lovely etched eye. Kansas Kitten is a reliable Carpenter. Nancy, earlier you reported (in 2022) that King Crab was planted in 2020. Gossard calls it a slow multiplier, but it has certainly grown well for you. Kirsten's Corsage has flair. Kiss You in the Morning has yet to perform well here, but it has been through some bad summers.

I'm sure that others still have

    Emmerich's Kingdom Without End.

    Kensington Plantation is new here.

King Crab is not 9 inches here, but I like the shape.

Kingdom Bound (an Emmerich) was recovering from division last year.

Katherine Caldwell is a welcome early bloomer, but not fast multiplying.

Killer had a different look on what must have been a cooler morning (a rarity anymore).

Kiss My Aura is a cute Hanson bitone, but nobody will get it for its name.

Keep the Faith, an older Emmerich.

Mantis - I still have Kingdom Without End, but it did not bloom in its first year here. I had a total of four Emmerichs that didn't bloom. They were in a box that I mailed to my new address in high heat, and they were also planted in late October. While Kingdom Without End never multiplied well in Nashville, fans doubled here. So I look forward to seeing it this year. I added Kingdom Bound last fall because of your praise for it. Katherine Caldwell always catches my eye.

David - Kim's Laughter is really pretty!

Brad -I always like Kristin's Corsage and Karen's seedling.

Kansas Kitten is a cute one. I agree King’s Crab makes a statement. I always like Kirsten’s Corsage. Maryl, Kiss Me in the Morning has such pretty colors. I like the looks of Kennesaw Raspberry Sorbet. Mantis, Killer did not bloom for me last year due to a move in the garden but it often had a ”freckled” bloom on cool mornings.

    Kingdom Without End

    Keepsake Rosie

    Kierabel is usually low budded

    Kensington Plantation

Keep On Looking is one I have had for years and is still at four fans

    Kara Louise-one of my favorites

I see that Kara Louise is a Hansen. Your climate should be a good test of Hansen performance. (Not a test of hardiness, of course,)

    sherrygirl zone5 N il thanked mantis__oh

Kate - It looks like Keepsake Rosie has mulitplied for you, while it never did for me. Have you ever seen the bud building trait on it? I bought it because of that but it never showed bud building in Nashville. That's a pretty shot of Kara Louise. It was a good performing Hansen for me, but I didn't bring it because of it being an evergreen and Dan not listing it as northern hardy in his catalog.

Debra, yes yes, I should have mentioned that about Keepsake Rosie. It was a good bud builder and bloomed a long time.
