Colors can look different based upon the texure to which they are applied. Redardless if you choose stucco or siding, choosing the color would be the same. If you choose stucco, the trade you hire should provide you with a sample board of the color you choose in a couple of different textures. Some rougher textures have significant highs and lows that with catch and reflect light differently. The same is true for the siding. You will need to test the color choice first. I'd say go with what you like in texture.

Hi barclak, unless you have plans in the future to replace all the sidings with stucco, I would suggest matching the exterior finishes on your new addition with existing ones, otherwise you might run in the risk of creating a choppy renovation.
