I agree that using a different floor and not attempting to match the existing flooring would work best. Since it is a bedroom would you consider carpeting?

All I can see is that your contractor/subs are not protecting your current tile floors from the construction taking place. Why didn't anyone cover them with ramboard?

I love the herringbone. I don't like the bit of white in the middle sample...the floor might look speckled once laid out.

I would clean your floors and roll out kraft paper to keep them from further damage.

I would do diff tile in the bedroom.

something solid. no sense getting more of that tile floor when it's already had it's time, brief as it was.

if you like the herringbone, what about a charcoal or black slate tile?

when the time comes to redo the other floor tile, you can do a real wood or laminate.

Get rid of all the tile in that narrow passage. Make a sketch of what precedes the passage ! ?

Instead of focussing on trying to complement the flooring, consider what will work best with your new master as it would be a shame not to. Keep in mind your furniture, colors, accessories, and ensuite. Narrow down characteristics: content, color and effect (suggest the calmer the better). If your husband is wanting the warmth of carpeting, just add a rug. You can make a connection to the hallway with the colors selected when decorating.

Use something different for the master bedroom. It sounds like there is going to be a door at the threshold, which allows the bedroom to have its own colors and design. Any flooring with a big area rug will be cozy and “bedroom-like”.

Please talk to your contractor about keeping new floors protected. Even if it’s tile, workers can easily ruin them with bits of debris.

Keep the door closed if it bothers you and do whatever you like in the bedroom IMO rip out the tile and do all the same floor for this private area. since I think it is part of the master suite isn't it ?
