Not me, I find color matching skin pretty difficult— and so does apparently every Youtuber. I see those ads during which they slather foundation on their faces that is NOTHING like their skin tone, gasp at the ”perfect” match, and finish by havong a face that is a completely different color than their neck and arms. They choose the color they wish they were…..it’s weird.

I use either Drmtlgy tinted moisturizer, a Chanel foundation stick or Erborian— or some combination of two of the three— depending on the time of year and how pale or tan I am and what I’m doing that day. The Chanel stick is the only product that came in a color and the store clerk tried them all on me before recommending the color I bought. The other two products just come in one cokor (moisturizer) or as a white cream that adapts to your own skin color (Erborian).

I leave it up to the experts at themakeup counter.

Kswl, I totally agree with you on it looks nothing like their skin tone! So many times I've wondered if my screen was off or something. There's one influencer who I swear looks like she puts on yellowish orange foundation!

And most of them put on 27+ layers of stuff, I'm surprised it doesn't just slide off their face!

Haven't tried the hex code, probably won't. I avoid ChatGPT as much as possible. But that is interesting!

I thought it was interesting to see how close the make-up counter people had come to what AI suggested. I have a BB cream (Dr. Jart) and 2 foundations (NARS and Laura Mercier). When asked to match the hex code to each of those brands, AI suggested the shade that I already own. I think it is useful to know that. Who knows, I may be stuck somewhere without a make-up counter and need to buy foundation. (It has happened before. I went on a business trip and left all of my make-up at home. My choices were Walgreens or CVS)

Bbstx, that happened to me once (makeup bag left in the car during trip to the airport) and I had to do the same thing. I didn’t do a very good job of finding agood match. I have no idea how the hex thing works. I might try it for fun to see how close it will be. My facial skin is very much lighter than the rest of me, especially in the summer.

I have worn Revision Intellishade tinted moisturizer for years and it adapts to your skin color. I previously wore a very light base from Bobbi Brown that probably isn’t available now but their colors are about the same over the years, so I have one that works well for when I want more doverage. Most days I don’t wewr anything now.
