i initially planned on that however i had an extensive collection of night fairies that needed a home and decided it might take away from them! Wallpaper and material also look amazing as back drops in glass cabinets!

Did you have to sand and prime first. I have something similar and would like to do same.

Yes Angel i did sand it! then i sanded it again! LOL i didnt prime it tho... Benjamin moore has great paint with the primer built right in! Having said that if u dont prime... make sure u sand every inch of it to scuff it up good... sand with the grain and i used a 150 grit first then a 220... i used a brush and where i could a small foam roller... less is more i did a bunch of (4 or 5) thin thin thin coats! and can actually still see the wood grain! Big universal shout out 2 the Ladies and gents that have done vids and blogs on how to do this! isnt the internet wonderful! u can learn how to do just about anything! good luck with urs! post post post!

Thank you for the information. Yesterday afternoon I just finished my first "chalk paint" project coffee table (thought yours might have been chalk also). Used BM paint and plaster of paris. It was so easy I kept thinking I must have done something wrong! Do like the finish on yours.

And think of the new life you've given this piece, instead of using resources to buy something new! It is going to be fun when people comment on it! Be sure to keep the "before" photo in the drawer, so you can casually pull it out when you get a compliment!
