I was planning on a large(39”) Shaw’s double bowl sink, but the price has gotten very high, so now I have decided to go with a 35.875” Kohler Whitehaven cast iron sink with the 9” apron. It comes in several colors and does have a low divide.
Like anything else, it has been the subject of complaints, but overall I like it.

Enameled cast iron can last for 50 years or 10 minutes. Drop a heavy pan in it and you can chip the enamel. Disposals are also problematic for both Fireclay and enameled sinks. Your best bet might be a Blanco silgranit Icon sink. The material and company are highly regarded on this forum. Personally, I like my sinks to be made out of metal, but that’s me.

I have a Whitehaus fireclay sink. Love it! No problems with glazing, chipping, or scratching after almost a decade living with it. I have the stainless grid on the bottom.

Check out some of the latest apron front sinks from Karran. I saw them at KBIS in Orlando last week; very impressive. They've got a Hexclad stainless steel apron front sink that apparently isn't even on their website yet and sinks with a removeable waterproof divider.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll look them up. There won’t be a garbage disposal, so thats not an issue. Although we plan for a dishwasher there’s just the two of us so we do mostly hand washing. The sink will get a lot of use so needs to be durable. I’ll definitely get the racks for the bottom of them. We are building a farmhouse so prefer the country look.
