Kitchen design tips

Hello,

We are currently extending our kitchen and are struggling for inspiration. We would love any advice and pointers from people who have more flair for design or who have more experience.

The plan below shows our current best idea for layout, Above the integrated fridge (next to larder cupboard in the corner) is boxing in for stairs so we are unable to have tall units past this point. the door into the space is in the back right corner (opppsite corner to the current corner unit), it's unmarked on the plan. We are having a roof lantern installed over the dining table so it would be nice to keep the living space at that end I think.

We are based in the UK and do cook a lot so it's important we get this right - we have been living with a poor design for 15 years so are very excited to get this sorted.

If you purposely came to the U.S. Houzz site, you will need to convert all of the measurements shown to inches - people won't spent the time doing the conversion.

If you decide to stay on this site, you will need to provide more information (current photos/adjoining rooms/how many people live here/etc.)

If you are staying - post the floor plan with the dimensions converted to inches. Thanks!

^^^^This is the American Houzz site. Though it does service Canadians, too. As most Americans are metrically challenged, your measurements in centimeters, and not inches/feet, will be befuddling. Also, the UK uses some appliance brands Americans are unlikely to be familiar with. Not to mention differing compliance codes, related to placement of switches and outlets, and…

Thanks all for getting back to me, I've had an absolute nightmare trying to access the UK Houzz site as it only seems to offer me a pro account option and assumes I have a business which I do not - very frustrating! I appreciate you all coming back to me anyway :)
