Backsplash choice?

last month

I am trying to decide about the below backsplash selection (white carrara marble), countertop is blue thunder quartzite. I kmow the countertop should be the ”show”, but white tiles seem so boring.

Show the overall kitchen . the marble isnt right. maybe a subtle one color tile even a shape like arabesque .. but more details of the style of kitchen w details of cabinets/ floor are needed

Your working toward a look I like to call Stonehenge. Stone on the counter, stone on the backsplash is a very visually heavy look. Consider a tile with glaze variability or crackle, or shape if you want it to have some oomph, but this look is not super attractive.

    Hey There!

I totally get your concern about the white backsplash feeling a bit too plain against the blue thunder quartzite.

If you're looking for something with more character, you might consider a subtle pattern like a herringbone or a soft, grey-veined marble. It’ll still let the quartzite shine, but with a bit more visual interest.

Another idea could be using a soft, neutral tone like light grey or a muted blue to complement the quartzite without overwhelming it. Whatever you choose, balance is key!

It’s tough to recommend a tile or even a colorway without knowing the colors of the cabinets and floor. Based solely on the information available, this is Fireclay Tile in Dust Storm which is a level 3 color variation glaze (top) and Dolomite Gloss (bottom).

I'd stay away from any tile with veins since your counter has veins. If white tiles seem boring, you still have tons of other options. You could go for white in a shape (like arabesque mentioned above, hex, square, or star and cross...) or you could go for a color. If you show more images of your kitchen that include your cabinets and floor, that would help.

Yes we need to see a lot of ng shot if the kitchen cabinets and counter. I'm not a fan of gray with a brown counter.

    Do you have inspirational pictures?
