I do not have reminiscent coral, but Raspberry cupcake is good and healthy here.

I agree, Dianela. The way I see it, any rose that stays black spot free all summer long, and only gets some late season black spot, say from late September on, and then only on the oldest, lowest down leaves on the bush, is a keeper.

The only other roses that are that level of healthy here so far are: Madame Anisette, Earth Angel, Florentina, Laguna, Bliss, Peach Melba, Vulcano, Kendyl Marie, Flamenco Rosita, Dark Desire, Pomponella, Cloud 10 and Bordeaux Cityscape.

Newer ones here that did great last year were Sweet Mademoiselle, Colette, Delta Gamma and Heavenly Ascent (Madame Anisette’s offspring according to ARE).

Anyway I will continue to try roses hopping to have a garden full of healthy beauties. I do have some of my favorite and healthier Austin’s also, but they can’t match the health of those mentioned.

I wish someone could tell us more about reminiscent coral because I really like that color.

It is going to be in the ground this year for the first time. I had it in a pot last year. First season in my pot showed it wants to be tall. Exellent healthy leaves all season long. My blooms were not beautiful like they show on their site but thats not uncommon on their first year so Ill wait and see what it does this year.

Rifis maybe I am a very trusting soul! ARE says ”it bears clean foliage” and it was the color range I was looking for. I was on a yellow and white search last year.

apparently I was impressed from the day it arrived. This thread shows the newer more beautiful bloom stage I did not remember having.

My Raspberry Cupcake formed a big mound of healthy green foliage, but the blooms balled and browned in rain and wouldn’t open properly even in just humid air. So depending on how humid it gets with you Moses, it might not be the best choice even if it does remain BS free all season. It certainly does really well for Dianela!

Raspberry cupcake for me never gets blackspot, even in the fall when most of my roses get it. She does not bloom much for me though, but is only two years old so maybe she needs more time. A very rounded healthy bush though. I live over in the Susquehana Valley in PA

Nollie how humid does your area gets? I remember your raspberry having balling issues. I wish some expert could comment on how balling happens. I think it may have a complex relationship with humidity plus temperature and not be that humidity dependent as I originally thought.

Alabama is classified as humid subtropical with humidity average of 84% in the morning and 53% in the evenings. According to google AI Alabama is consistently rated as one of most humid states in the USA yet mine has never balled. Actually I rarely ever have any balling issues except rarely with Earth Angel.

We are classed as subtropical too, Dianela. Although I don’t have figures to hand. It is often very wet with dew and air humidity in the early morning, but heats up and dries out fast when the sun comes out, so it could be that particular combination causes my balling issues. Teas, noisettes and some heavily petalled modern roses do it here.

I grow Reminiscent Coral and in my zone 8 it is a very healthy rose but in humidity, I dont know. It is a short rose that works perfectly in the front of the bed. I wish that it bloomed more

There is a Reminiscent Coral pictured at Home Depot's online site, growing in a 2 gal. pot, for $29.98, not a bad price especially since the postage is free.

Kristine, I counted 24+ blooms on it....suspiciously 'doctored,' I would add! 🤔 Take a look if you have the time. See if you agree.

I wish I had the room for Reminiscent Coral, but nobody but my two Orange Glow Knock Outs are scheduled for eviction, and ASAP. Their replacements are a Double Easy Orange from J&P, yet to arrive, and a Brindabella Purple Prince, already chillin' in its pot, waiting until the late, killing frosts are over before plant it.
