Not late, but not here yet.

We usually have to wait until around mid April here in Missouri I think. I noticed yesterday that I have some buds about to open on my red honeysuckle. I have a red buckeye that blooms early too that will be ready when they show up. It's supposed to go back down to 19 Sunday night though. : (

Just now I saw my first hummingbird of the season.

I saw the first hummingbird here on the 17th but haven't seen one again since then. I no longer put out feeders but have a red honeysuckle that's loaded with blooms right now and my red buckeye is blooming. My red honeysuckle is in a container and every year, it seems like it's biggest flush of blooming comes too early. I wonder if it would bloom a bit later if it was in the ground.

I am seeing a lot of hummers now. They are fighting every day. This is the biggest spring migration I have seenin a longtime.
