You have a beautiful home! Your living room and kitchen look fantastic. For me, the dining room "mismatch" has two different components:

    1. Your living/kitchen is a very well-executed transitional style, in both architecture and furnishings. The dining room's wainscotting plus high-contrast wall color sets a more traditional and formal feel. That can work! It's an enclosed room, and dining rooms are used for more formal events, so you could lean into the mismatch. BUT
    2. The dining room itself is not cohesive. You have formal architectural trim. You have formal, traditional, and substantial dining chairs. Your table is also substantial, but a casual farmhouse look. The mirror, lamps, chandelier, and etagere are much more modern and also airy and lightweight.

Making the dining room echo the other rooms would require replacing almost everything. An easier solution is to pull this room together by leaning into the formal, with a careful contrast of traditional and modern. Keep the great painting! And the lamps and chandelier. Replace the table with something in the same wood tone but a solid wood top. Remove the etagere completely, or replace it with a china hutch (tons available on Craigslist). Look for a mirror with a more substantial frame. I think slightly lighter but traditional chairs would help. But chairs are expensive, and what you have can work if you rebalance the other elements.

    Great home.

Your dining room has a lot of glare from the big bulbs around the fixture perimeter which is compounded by the mirror. Consider replacing them and the lamps. At a minimum, put the fixture on a dimmer with recessed ceiling lights also on a dimmer.

Maybe a new wall paint color or wall paper plus a rug. Your window blind doesn’t suit the room. Use a taller plant or repot the current one into a larger pot on a stand

The changes above may be enough without having to change your furniture.

Some paint, rug and lighting websites allow you to photoshop their products into your DR photo so you can see changes virtually.

Please post after photos if you make any changes. Good luck!
