Artwork Dilemma

I have a glass stairwell with an open walkway at the top. The stair treads are 44 inches wide (glass to wall is 50) and the floor space landing at the top is 43 inches deep to the facing wall.

We originally were thinking of adding a statue, plant or vase to the corner at the top of the stairs, but it then looked like we needed a picture to complete the look. Also concerned with adding obstructive feel to the pathway. We then decided to consider wall art on that walkway wall. The wall to the light switch is 85 inches. The overall ceiling height for the open space is 17.5ft and the upstairs area's ceiling is 8ft.

We were considering putting the wall art (42wx62t) centered at the top of the stairs, but when you view it from downstairs, on the sofa it appears unbalanced to me, having a large gap between the bedroom door and the art piece. The only place it looks good is when you are at the bottom of the stairs.

Considerations:

+Would like it to look good viewed from all angles upstairs and downstairs

+No obstruction to the stairs

+Shouldn't draw the eye upstairs because the downstairs waterview/windows are the focus

+I photoshopped in the image we were considering

+Ignore the black lantern by the door, I forgot to move it.

With this placement, from downstairs it looks off balance, see first picture.

Thoughts and advice are most welcome. Thanks
