We have had so much rain the past two weeks…..hoping for a better show for my early and mid bloomers. How are things shaping up where you live?
Tall Dark Stranger is a great performer here. It is tall, fast increase and good bud count. It puts on a show every season and has been unphased with less than ideal weather the past seasons.
Techny Spider is getting estsblished after being moved.
Thibodeaux Tantalizer had paler pattern last summer
Tyger River did marvelous after being mover to a sunnier spot.
Many of my dayliles got moved in the fall of 2024 after I removed many poor performers that fall.
Trance had a good increase last summer. This late bloomer along with other lates I have were unphased by the wonky weather.

5 months agoWhat a clump shot of Tall Dark Stranger. Quite the sight......I only have one T. I've had it for years now. It spends winter in the garage as it is tender here:

We have had an abundance of rain here which is always a good thing given we are on well water. The 70/80s temp were not a good thing although I did enjoy the relief from the cold. Back to normal temps but overnight temps heading back down for most of the upcoming week. Warnings are up here for today as high winds and rain possibly mixed with snow.
This is one of my favorites in the garden.Increases quickly, good scapes and buds. I have two plantings and will most likely eliminate one. Flower openings are perfect.

In the garden with the perennials before the garden expansion happened.
This pic is on the upper end of the garden near our front porch.. Only surronded by other daylilies and grass beind it is now part of the new expanded garden space.

Maryl, such a striking pic of To God Be the Glory-not usually one of my favorite color combos but it works on that bloom. Julia, your Tahiti Sweetie photos are always gorgeous with the garden plants. You have such a great eye for perennial plantings. I commiserate about the weather. After several days of temps in the 80s we now have a couple of days in the 40s with freezing temps at night.
I am always surprised at how few Ts I have.
Tahiti Sweetie is always a winner.

Thumbthing Special has been slow to multiply but I love the blooms

Tears of a Clown was new and only gave a few flowers
Thundering Voice is always pretty
Tall Dark Stranger was one of only a few that did not bloom well. It usually puts on a show
Tangerine Tickles is a late one
Triple Greens has been slow to establish
Tahoe Snow Blizzard had fewer buds than normal but is being crowded by a rose bush
Two Sues is on the other side of that rose bush and is suffering as well
The Tribble With Blue
Tri Color is an early one that usually gives two rebloom cycles
Thomas Tew can be very striking and the dark purple can be so intense and velvety

The Color of Wonderful did well in its first year here despite being planted very late in 2024. It rebloomed on a few fans.
The Color of Wonderful clump when temps were in the 90s.
The Ultimate Sacrifice early in the season when temps were cool.
Thunder Glow X (Skin of My Teeth X Midnight Castle) has a pretty bloom but a weak plant habit. It's a very slow multiplier, but I kept it for hybridizing.

There was widespread destruction here earlier in the week. One night of 16, and Tuesday it didn't hit 32. Just after the extremes on Sunday, a temp drop of 50 degrees zapped most of the daffodils, magnolias, early blooming shrubs, earlier lilac buds. Possibly affected were the tree peonies. Mother Nature has been on a tear this year. I don't remember so much wind in the first three months. March has averaged well above normal, and forecasts are for a hot summer as El Nino takes hold.
I was always a bit skeptical of Tall Dark Stranger--a cultivar out of Russian Rhapsody by a little-known hybridizer, Veurink. But last year it was so striking--a rich, floriferous early bloomer, vigorous and well budded. The pic of Thundering Voice really shows the ruffles--much more so than NGA pics and even Emmerich's. Thomas Tew has been very reliable here. The Gift of Giving, I see, is a Georges.
Time Stopper is relatively new.
Hanson's The Future of Desire blooms shorter than registered.
Hanson's The Loner is tall and fairly new.
The Goldilocks Effect has a striking sheen.
Toucan Sam was divided and was stingy.
The X Files for some reason didn't produce much this past summer (pic from 24).
Hanson's Tonight's the Night is around 5 inches
Hanson's Tina's Siren Song has good height. It took a while to recover from division.
Davisson's Twitch. Good height.
Hanson's The Dream Society (an important parent for him).
And his Tropical Fruit 'Fight
And There's A Place. Short by nature, but astounding clarity in last summer's abundant early rain.
Kaskel's Tar and Feather is a large flower that is dramatic in the early garden.
Tonto's Expanding Headband
Emmerich's Teeth of Iron is difficult to photograph, as it is a reddish black, but pictures tend to produce a purplish hue in some light and too reddish in brighter light. Decent height, but slow to multiply.
Hanson's The Food Channel. Late midseason.
The Band Played On is a Stamile that can have off seasons.
Davisson's Tickle Fingers
Gossard's Thundercat bloomed on several divisions. Bloom production can vary from season to season.
Emmerich's Truth Teller
Davisson's Tattered Heart is tall and imposing.
Tigrillo Afternoon after some heat.
Truly Angelic I kept because it is a classic.
Hanson's The Spangle Maker. Young and unproven so far.
