Your sconces appear to be hung very high. So your artwork will need to be too. Artwork needs to be something you love and not just purchased because it is a singular piece vs four framable pieces. Look until something hits you. Then decide what kind of furniture looks best beneath it. Do you need storage or a surface on which to place something?

Where you vote, Pic #1 shows you--you NEED a console/side board piece to make the wall make sense. #1s isn't as functional but it's there!! Both options are more living room than dining area so neither would get a yes vote from me. Find a proper side board then see if your photos won't look great above it.

Are the sconces hard wired or battery? They unnecessarily limit the size of what you can hang and where you can hang things. They really should be a finishing touch for the wall rather than a foundation.

I am not a fan of gallery walls but 4 large pieces is not IMO what most think of as a galley wall. I would do a buffet type cabinet with one large piece of art above it. I do agree the sconces really do not work in the space and limit what you could do on that wall. Is the table centered between the sconces? Remove the sconces then you have a whole wall to work with .you could then add a lamp if you wanteed after choosing a nice long sideboard with those larger pics above. Can youpost a pic of the whole space too.

An option.

I'd change the chandelier to a brass finish (it looks too heavy with the sconces and kitchen hardware) and work with the stain color of the table top to fill that wall. I happen to like the faux finish wall in this photo, which you could do with a peel and stick wall paper.

The sconces appear to have been hung for hall lightuse, but given the cans in the ceilling seem unneeded. If you do decide to hang art the sconces should be centered on said art., or removed. Height of ceiling has nothing to do with why the electrician hung them too high.

How many inches do you have between the chair and the wall you're working on? Is there enough room for a sideboard and chair pulled out to be able to pass through comfortably?

When the chair is pulled out I have 35 inches of space if I go with something that is 15 inches in depth. If i need to I can have the wall sconces moved down.

That should be enough room to move comfortably. Do you have need for a sideboard? Is there something you'd like to store in there or something special you'd like to display?
