DH does laugh in his sleep fairly frequently but he doesn’t remember and it wakes me! I guess that counts .

I wake myself with terrible nightmares… unfortunately not laugh worthy. c

I love dreams where I visit loved ones! I have visits with my kitties who have passed on, sometimes and I love that, too. I have laughed myself awake a few times. Not sure if I ever remember what I was laughing about, but it's a good feeling.

Yes, I have, several times. Most of the time, I remember the joke that made me laugh (and consequently wake up). I love your dream. So funny.

DH talks incoherently in his sleep. Weirdest thing he did once was to bark like a dog. He generally does a very good imitation of dog barks, but him barking like a dog in sleep was unreal. He was napping on the sofa one afternoon when he did that. I woke him up and asked him if he knew he was barking. He said with all seriousness, yes he knew and he had to bark. Turns out he was dreaming that he was on a walk and a huge dog was blocking him and that he had to scare the dog away to continue to walk. As he was still kind of in the dream, he explained all this as if it was logical.

@nutsaboutplants omg...that made me laugh out loud - the part where, yes he knew, but he HAD to bark.

No I've never done that but I have woken myself up clapping. For those of you who went to aerobic classes in the '80's, did any of you clap at the end of the class? We did and one time I didn't go to the class because I just didn't feel like it. Anyway, I must have felt very guilty because in my dream I went to the class which ended and I started to clap. I woke myself up.

I have woken myself (and DH) by laughing, crying, yelling, etc. I can be pretty vocal in my sleep.

Early in our relationship, DH and I went away for a weekend. In the middle of the night, I woke up to find him standing on the bed and yelling. It was an interesting trick to try to wake him without having him fall off the bed. Fortunately he has been a pretty calm sleeper since then (except for the occasional snoring).

I don't think I've ever laughed during a dream, but I have right after waking from a dream. Then I try to remember the dream but before long I forget parts of it.

I have woken up laughing, crying, trying to yell, being slapped by my SO who was asleep at the time, upside down in bed, and having episodes of sleep paralysis.

I have never woken up laughing in a dream, but I have had dreams come true. I make sure I tell Dh my dream in the morning, so if it happens he knows I told him first😁

The funniest dream I heard about was my middle sister who dreamed that we went to the farmers market and she bought a giant tomato. It was so big and heavy that she had to carry it on her shoulder and as she was carrying it I kept bumping into her. She got tired of me bumping into her and leaned over and licked my cheek (wierd response, but it was a dream.)

In her dream, I responded by licking inside her mouth. That is when she woke up to find my nieces dog (she was dog sitting) laying on her shoulder and staring into my sister's face.

I actually woke up from two different dreams last night, and I was trying to yell in the second one. That said, I don't sleep through the night, I take a medication which potentiates dreaming as a side effect, and I was too hot. All of which contribute to the issue.

One of my friends said they sleep like a baby - up every 3 hours!

My husband was once kicking his legs in bed and I woke him up thinking he was having a nightmare. He said half awake - "I'm playing basketball with Michael Jordan, please let me keep playing."

His second best sleep moment was when we fell asleep watching the summer Olympics, he bolted up in bed, said "I finished my gymnastics routine in five seconds. Farfalle." (Yes, as in the pasta.) Then went back to sleep.

@nutsaboutplants - I might wake up my husband now from laughing too loudly about your husband's barking dream.

Not in a dream, but I have found the occasional hypnagogic hallucination laugh-out-loud funny.
