Live with it exactly as is (except for wall paint) for 6 months to a year. During that time determine exactly what you can and cannot live with, then develop a plan.

Most of the regulars here are more interested in how a kitchen works than how it looks. Millworkman's advice gives you a chance to decide what works and what doesn't. And you might find others areas in the home that have more pressing needs.

"Outdated" is a silly construct.

The one thing I see here that I couldn't live with is the lighting. The central flourescent is clunky, and I'd definitely want a couple pendants over the sink /seating.

The questions are, Is the kitchen in good condition, and Does the kitchen function effectively for your family? I see things I like and things I don't like. The advice about living with it a while is very sensible.

Is your furniture that is moving in here of the same character? Should it all work together?

Painting the walls a creamy white would work nicely with your cabinets.

Congrats on your new house. You are so lucky to like the kitchen as is. Kitchen are expensive. Save changes for when this kitchen no longer functions for you or is worn out and needs replacement. By that time, there will be a new definition of outdated. Enjoy what you have and like now.

I actually like your cabinets and counters and if the layout works for you then great. That floor though - I’d save up for matching the hardwoods and sand/stain all to be a lighter tone of the kitchen cabinets. But that’s me!
