Id move the tv to the left of the fireplace. and either lower the existing mantle (its way to high) or completely redo the whole surround with something that goes with the style of the place.

Can you take a picture further away? Based on what you shared thos is a super bizarre spot for a fireplace to go! Why is it so close to the door?

I would remove that too high & too bulky looking mantle & replace it with a fireplace surround, many available online. It all depends upon your style., might want to add tile, stone or ? around the firebox..

Honestly I would want to minimize this mess not draw attention to it. It is super weird where it is located. See if you can find an asymmetrical design to draw the eye to the whole space vs just where the insert is.

If you are planning on redoing the fireplace what about seeing if there is an option to shift where it is. Make it longer and more linear to fill the space better. Is it gas or electric. No one is suggesting you sell but highlighting this area may also not be wise. Trying to recreate the whole wall might make more sense so it works well in the room

Besides weird there is no hearth. I had to expand the photo to see if there was actually a fireplace. Can you just close it off or do you plan to use it?

Tile under the mantle from the door frame, over to the left the same distance. Then tile on the floor the same width and about 18”out.

I would use a dark gray tile from the floor to the mantle and a few inches wider than the mantle. Use the same title on the floor as a hearth.

I would do something like posted above and make a built-in situation that utilizes the entire length of the wall

Your sectional will need to be repositioned to enjoy the tv if it's placed to the left of the fireplace.

The TV needs to go down and to the left remove the fake goofy mantel and if possible get rid of the FP if possible . It is in a really poor location and honestly does nothing for that wall. That whole wall could be a really nice spot for TV a bit of storage some display all better that what you have now .
