It will patina and turn greenish brown from finger prints, skin oil and most anything. It will be a living finish and everything will affect it. If that uds the look you want, go for it.

1977--1983 husband and I bought various pieces of furniture with brass handles and knobs. A year ago I realized they had faded so much they blended into the rosewood furniture. We're talking bedroom dressers with daily use. Probably laquered because they were not green, just dull. I spent days with brass polish until everything glistened. I hope not to have to do this again for a few more years because it was A LOT of work.

Some times the brass will leave an odor on your fingers since the patina is affected by your touch.

I feel like everyone loves the full patina, but getting it there often is an awkward unattactive stage that just looks icky.

It is spotty and ugly, especially if you have hard water. And if uou polish it, you might as well not chose it.
