Condo remodeling help

Can anyone give me ideas updating my kitchen in my condo using the exsisting appiancce? I plan to extend the greyish LVP into the kitchen. The kitchen also has a pocket door. I also want to add backslash but uncertain on the style and wall color paint. Thoughts anyone?

Woof, that is a strong cabinet color! The room that this kitchen leads into appears to be painted in a bluish tinge. It's a very stark transition from the kitchen into that room, do you want to keep the kitchen as warm as it is? Is there anything you're not willing to do, i.e. changing out the existing countertops and cabinets/painting cabinets?

I’d leave the space as it is until you can do a full remodel. Don’t put much into it right now

@Cami Leyva The cablinets are wooden, I'd like what ever recomendations as possible.

The cabinets are a really lovely wood, but a warm color, that doesn't go well with the stark white paint and appliances. I'd probably pick a blue or a green that would go with both the cabs and the counters. I'd consider painting the walls, too.

    1. First consult your HOA to see what limitations there are on changes that can be made. Do you know for sure that the wall between kitchen and living space is allowed to come down? Must the wall fan above the range be kept there? Can you move plumbing around? Let us know the answers to these questions first.

    2. What is your budget for the project?

    3. The current layout seems efficient and I wouldn't do much to change that. However, I'm curious if the exterior door clears the sink. And, is this the main entrance to your apartment? If so, would you like some kind of drop zone here?

    4. I like the wood cabinets but they don't seem to be in good condition. And you'd be better off with cabinets that have base drawers too.

@Kendrah The wall fan must be ketp there. The wall between the kitchen\living room can be opened about a doors width (because there is a pocket door in-place). The electric panel is about a foot from it.

What is the AI image meant to show? It bears little resemblance to the photo you posted of the flooring.

Can you use masking tape on the dining room wall to map out the size opening you would be able to have?

It would be helpful to see a pic of it and also know how many inches.

How many people live here and would regularly sit at the opening?

I like the flooring tone. The yellow trim can be painted a complimentary color.

I'd find a way to remove the wall between the kitchen and the dining area.

Thoughts of the a cabinet color and backsplash? I plan in the fucture to replace the white applicances with stainless. Im also going to extend the LVP through the kitchen...

Are you able to lay several pieces of the LVP on the kitchen floor next to the cabinets? It would be nice to see how the color/tone of the LVP works/doesn't work with the stain on the wood cabinets.

It seems odd that the vent hood isn't over the range - is there any way to fix that?

I thought about removing the shelf and adding a counter perhaps for two bar stools for the other side.

Question - I assume that the above means that you will open up the wall in order to add a counter that will have seating for bar stools. You've added "for the other side" - does that mean that you will have bar stool seating on the opposite side of the wall = where the black table is currently located? If yes, will that replace the black dining table - or is there room to add the bar stools + keep the table.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I might not be reading your post correctly.

Your kitchen doesn't have very much storage. Personally, I'd rather have some additional storage along that wall vs. a place for a couple bar stools. While 24" lower cabinets would be too deep along that wall, 15" deep cabinets would probably work.

Maybe a freestanding larder type cabinet would work? The width of the pantry would depend on how long the wall is. They have some freestanding units on Wayfair -

For example, this on is on sale for $600:

It is available in black/oak/white - if you aren't planning on painting your cabinets, white would probably work best with your existing stained kitchen cabinets.

It's 15" deep - some people used it as part pantry + part coffee bar.

There are many freestanding pantries - various lengths and storage options. Also, many people have used different types of IKEA units to make a pantry for their kitchens.

Just an idea - maybe you don't feel the need for extra storage - it just looks like extra storage would be nice.

The cabinets are lovely, don't paint them. I saw a house today that had a slatey blue with wood doors the color of your cabs and white trim. It all went well together. That would be a color of backsplash to pull everything together. Maybe a lighter slate blue on the walls.

If you're replacing the appliances with stainless and the counters, then you have complete freedom to play up the pretty wood cabinets. Don't paint them and make your kitchen generic.

Stainless steel panels for fridge and dishwasher might be the way to go for now. You can google it.
