The Okna is the better window. New construction install is a superior method.

You should ask the contractors if additional painting will be needed.

This is Monmouth County. The all in with discounts from HD is ~$29K. The all in with discounts from AC is ~$40K.

are thgey new construction/ full tear outs or replacement/ inserts? Are they using a nail flange?

1. Most folks will have a degree of "pause" when they look up the track record on HD installs. Not saying there are not good HD installers. Our lead service technician is a former HD installer and he's fantastic. But the amount of oversight of the installation crews is NOT comparative at all. As a result, the attention to detail can suffer.

2. There is a huge spread in install, from your post, as well. Removing the siding and going back New Construction is a much more exhaustive and labor intensive process. I would be interested to see if HD would even offer that option (unlikely because of the liability of damage on siding) and what the delta in labor price would be. I would imagine that it would be at least a $200 per window premium (more likely $300) and once you factor in that, the prices are very close.

As @toddinmn stated, one product is tangibly better than the other. Combined with the installation differentials, I think the price delta is easily accounted for here.

Go with the guy with OKNA, much better product. And they typically only sell to the better installers.
