Better layout for home office?

I have this current layout in my home office. The open doorway leads to the front entry, and the french doors open to a larger family room space.

The layout is OK, but I'm not loving the desk position. I do like that I can see out the front windows from my desk, but my monitor is larger, and I don't love how it looks from the family room through the French doors. I want to keep the glass open in the french doors for sunlight, which pours into the office and brightens the darker family room. I also don't love furniture on an angle. The chair in the corner is fine, but I've played around with the desk at an angle, and I don't like it. The furniture behind the desk holds the printer. I feel like the love seat can only go in front of the windows or on the wall behind where my desk is.

The love seat gets A LOT of use. I really like it, and I don't have anywhere else to move it. I could lose the corner chair if needed, but I don't think that really helps as much.

I'll add that this is really the only other option I see. I would then be looking directly into the family room with my back to the windows. I guess I could put the desk on the wall between the windows, but then my back would be to everything in the house.

in the second plan turn the desk so that it is against the wall between the windows but facing the entry into the foyer.. The love seat would be behind it centered on the wall as you have it. Or if you have sufficient cord management you can also float the desk in front of the loveseat so the love seat sits directly behind the desk.

This will also give you the opportuniy to center a large piece of art over the loveseat on that wall which will look nice from the entryway.

agree with @Design Interior South just what I was laying out, except I would put the club chair facing the other side of the desk, as a client chair idea.

You can sit in a comfy chair and look out the window when you need to.

Thanks for your thoughts. I tried the chair in the corner in front of the desk and it felt too heavy on the desk side.

I have it set up the suggested way, and I like it except for my big monitor being obstructive again. Beginning to think I need to get a smaller computer. I have a Surface Studio desktop and it's quite large. Which I like for viewing, but it's not the prettiest.

Now I need to find some new wall art for above the sofa. I had a bit of a gallery wall there and wasn't feeling it either.

if you don't need the monitor directly in front of you, try a much larger monitor mounted on the wall over the printer.

When you are at the desk you are wokring - no?? I would turn it and face the wall. YOu have all the other furniture spaces to sit at when working and not needing the computer. I HATE looking at the back of a monitor and all the wires hanging!

Well, after sitting with it all day. I didn't like the monitor in what was basically the middle of the room. When I put it on the left of the desk, it completely obstructed the window. I tried it with the desk positioned so the chair is looking at the french doors, but the monitor problem obviously persists.

I'm currently here. Which solves the monitor problem, but not yet sure I love facing a corner. My chair swivels, and I can turn to look where I want. But now I need a coffee table or ottoman as the room is too empty.

I had the club chair in between the windows, both straight and on an angle toward the love seat, and it didn't feel right, so we moved it to the corner, and now it's a nice reading spot.

I've been fascinated by these desk/tables that hide the monitor when not in use. Might work for your situation.

Don't know if you need the monitor, but if you don't, try a laptop. If it's a must, I prefer your second layout, or Design Interior's idea if you need to look out a window.
