I am guessing you prefer to sit in the club chairs rather than the sofa to watch TV?

The dining room rug seems a bit too small, you want to have the chairs ON the rug when they are pulled out from the table.

For me, the new cabinet behind the sofa might be better suited to separating the dining room and living room, with the sofa over there... have you tried it?

Do you need a separation between the entryway and the living space?

Is there a walkway in front of the windows? a reason why you don't have any seating there? A conversation seating arrangement with the TV and the fireplace as the focal point? Is the TV mounted on the wall or sitting on the credenza?

Thanks Lynn, we have tried the sofa like that--although it was a longer sofa. Our recliners were on either end of the sofa, angled towards the TV, with the console table behind the sofa. That didn't work well, as one of us was too far away from the TV. It's a difficult room, to be sure.

Yes, there is a walkway next to the windows, from the office and patio to the master suite entry hall. I'd like to keep the walkway . The TV is sitting on the credenza, as it's recessed too deep for a wall mount.

RE: a conversation area. Strangely, we just don't use our living room when entertaining. We're either at the dining room table, on the patio or playing Mahjong/cards at our kitchen table. Our kitchen is very roomy and great for entertaining. We use our living room for TV watching or reading, just the two of us. Always in our recliners--we're old & like to be comfy! Still, I'd like it to look nice, as it's open to the entry and dining room.

Pretty home! do you need a bench in the entry? if not, i’d skip it and leave the area open for welcoming guests

Thanks la_la Girl. We don't really "need" a bench there, but the entry needs something!. I think the current console table is too much--it's 67" long and it's another horizontal surface that would be styled much the same as the cabinet behind the sofa. Too much "same same" in a small area. The entry is larger than it looks in the photo--8'10" wide where the bench would sit, there's an entry vestibule from the garage across from the console table.

Ideas other than a bench?

My thoughts...I did not read your other post. The piece behind the sofa is way too big. Can you use it under thr t v? It would show so much better in that spot. Put the console you have in the hallway behind the two chairs. It could also work as a serving table for dining room.; put lamps on it.

Instead of a coffee table, try the ottoman between the chairs, with a brass tray.

. Dining room rug is the wrong size. I would prefer no rug at all, so the table base becomes more important.

Hallway, do something like this for the wall, using the round mirror. Do an accent color Larger runner and use the color of the pretty front door in the rug. Get a tiny bench, just for the look.

A gorgeous rug and one large stunning piece of art - vertically hung rectangular, is enough for your entry. If you are set on a bench, get the second one. Green is the way to go so you aren't clashing neutrals and wood mixed with upholstery keeps it grounded and referencing the wood door.

I like your living room set up a lot. Do you really need a coffee table? Everyone has a place to sit a drink and phone already. You'll have to place the coffee table out of reach in order to fit it and the ottoman together. I'd wait a few months on doing anything else to the living room.

I'd prefer seeing your dining table with two across from two instead of one on each side of the table. It feels a bit skimpy to me as is.

Re the bench,I like rhe 2d one. I also like the cabinet behind your sofa, but I dislike dinky pieces of furniture, prefer to err on the side of larger vs smaller.
