Help with Blue Paint for a Bathroom Vanity
I need help deciding on the blue paint for a bathroom vanity. I’m trying to decide between BM Hale Navy, BM, Newburyport Blue, SW Naval and SW Indigo Batik. I’ve looked at countless internt pictures of these four colors and the same color can look vastly different across photos, from dark blue, to grey blue to eye popping almost neon blue. I want a classic navy with a coastal feel and I want to avoid one that is too bright, eye popping or like a child’s bathroom blue. I know a lot depends on the light of the room. My room is west facing, but never gets direct sunlight because of the adjacent house. Despite that I would generally say it is naturally diffuse light, especially since the tiles and walls are white and will remain in white hues as the room is remodeled. The cabinets will most likely come from Decor Cabinets in Canada and I believe will be in a satin finish. When I look at the 8x11 paint swatches in the room, the BM Hale Navy seems a bit dull and definitley reads grey/blue. The SW Naval looks navy, but can also look a bit dark depending on the angle I’m standing. The Newburyport looks a bit too light and the SW Indigo Batik looks mostly navy and in between the Newburyport and the SW Naval. Here are two pictures that I took that read pretty true. In the first picture, the actually door (which is from Decor) is a brighter blue then I want and was described as Kensington Blue. The wood swatch of Hale Navy seemed darker/duller than I wanted. In the second picture, the wood swatch marked Naval seemed a close match to the SW Naval and seemed like a pretty vibrant blue IRL, but the paper swatch looks a little darker in my room. Any advice would be appreciated as to which of these blues will be a classic navy that looks blue, but not an eyepopping, bright, child’s bedroom blue - lol.
