First hybrid daylily open today

H. dumortieri and H. minor are finished blooming, but we have our first hybrid blooming today. It is Begin with a Bang. I don't love the color, but it is always the earliest hybrid blooming.

We still have some iris blooming. The siberian iris has just started.

This little cutie is Bumblebee Deelite.

It's no surprise that Bob wanted to buy some orange iris. This is Orange Splash.

I am disappointed in ths one. It was supposed to be Florentine Silk, a pink and lavender one. This one is pretty though.

Lava Flow, Vader's Choice, and a couple of seedlings, including our favorite one, now have scapes.

Great to see your first bloomer! I think the early bloomers get extra points for being first no matter the color….they are wonderful to see.

I like your mix of iris, I dont have many.

Congrats on first bloom! Love the iris. The one that is not Florentine Silk appears to have lots of ruffles-really pretty!

It's always nice to see the first bloom and know so many are to follow.......I've still got my head buried in the potting mix trying to get it all done, but I did notice that I've had a couple blooms open on my usual early ones. The season will begin with or without me......I like the colors on the last two Iris in particular. Very pretty...........Maryl

Florentine Silk is a beautiful one. I do like the red beard on the mistake. Iris seem to have had an exceptional year in many areas.

That is a very early daylily! I don't think I'll have any open for a couple of weeks. The irises are lovely!
