I'm goign to be starting a project in a few months I currently have a pre-fab Showerstall that I want to replace there is really nothing wrong with it but I'm getting really tired of every year scraping out the old caulk and replacing it I'm not sure what direction I want to go in.Ideally I would want to replace it with a one piece unit but thats not going to happen without taking out a wall as my one bathroom is quite small.

I've been researching Caulkless shower stalls and are these shower stalls really Caulk free which will eliminate me scraping and replacing caulk on a yearly basis which is truly a PITA?

My second choice would be to go with Tile which I've kicked around yes its goign to be more money which I'm okay with but where I have a slight Dilema is my wife really wants some shelves inside the shower stall which kind of complicates things a bit looking at A couple of the caulkless kits there are a couple that caught her eye that she likes Sterling in particular speaking with people I've gotten mixed opinions if these units really are truly Caulkless and if they will eventauly leak or build up Mold some say you still need to caulk while others say absolutley do not as it does more harm than good.

I'm kind of in A dilema on which direction to go I'm not really against either one but I'm looking for longevity and honestly as little maintenance as possible

I know everything will need a bit of maintenance but the scraping and replacing Caulk yearly is really getting tiresome if I'm goign to rip this existing stall out I don't want to have to do this again for quite some time

I'm looking for some options and opinions the shelves are very important to be inside the shower though thats why I'm leaning towards the Caulkless but a friend who I value is opinion insists that they are not truly Caulkless but the more I read up on them I seem to find more positive than negative on them and how they truly work so yes I'm leaning that way but I'm not completley sold on them and dont want to be making a mistake spending all this money putting one in only to run into issues and having to deal with caulk again which I'm looking to eliminate

any thoughts,opinions or ideas will be truly appreciated I'm going into this with an open mind and open to any ideas but also looking to keep the cost within budget which is about 6k or so
