We are a very small house situated between two larger houses, one beige and one gray-blue. We also sit in shade most of the time. Looking to make our home stand out in a good way.

I'd go with light blue and white. The Stucco Guy has lots of ideas.

I like the house as is...dark fence, both of your neighbors could benefit from a white stain. I think it is landscaping you need to make your home stand out. But, if you are up for a paint change, I like this inspiration photo.

It is almost a flip of what you have. Lighter siding and trim to work with your roof.

If growing grass is an issue, look into artificial turf. It drains and is pet friendly. We are in MA and did Forever Lawn around our pool. It was a very good investment.
