There really isn’t ”winter” where I live ( So Cal beach ) but we have water, sand , etc . LVP throughout, it’s been virtually indestructible even with kids, dogs . I vote for LVP for the entry & probably the powder room too. We have it throughout, I dislike choppy floor,surfaces.

I would use tile in the entry, a chance to do a statement tile.

I would use the LVP everywhere. It really is waterproof. We’ve had three floods and needed to replace drywall and baseboards but not flooring. It’s great in bathrooms too.

@WestCoast Hopeful ….yes, we also have it in our bathrooms & as I have stated before, sand & water finds it’s way into our house , always.

For looks and safety issues, I'd run the LVP into the foyer. Different floor heights are a tripping hazard. And as many have stated, the LVP is waterproof and durable.

I'd go with the Coretec. The whole benefit of running the same flooring throughout the house is the clean, continuous look. In a narrow hallway, adding tile just creates another transition and breaks up the space.Coretec is designed to handle wet boots, snow, and everyday entry traffic. As long as you're using a good mat.

If this were a true mudroom, I'd say tile. For a front entry and hallway, I'd keep the LVP flowing through

I’d use LVP throughout, other than in the bathrooms. If possible, when choosing the powder room’s porcelain (which will make it feel more unique), try to coordinate with the feel of the foyer/hall to create a complementary transition.

Coretec throughout the whole main floor. I am working on a lake house right now in Canada and using Coretec throughout the main floor including the powder room. You don’t have to worry about water, scratches or sand ruining the floor.

Do not use tile, keep the flooring throughout.

Thank you @WestCoast Hopefully. Then why not have the same flooring throughout the home? Why have porcelain in the bathrooms unless it's already there?

That is why many people are suggesting to have all LVP

High end LVP is waterproof so you can use it in bathrooms and kitchens without any worry.

Use the Coretec in the front hall and get a killer rug. Tell hubby you are saving him money when the claims come because a friend fell on the tile. Add to that tiles will be so cold.
